Correct inspection of scaffolding creates a safer working environment

Strat Training’s scaffolding-related training courses are designed around helping those pursuing a career in this field or who are interested in learning skills for a healthy and safety working environment. Strat Training offers three different types of courses for those who work daily with scaffolding: Scaffolding Erector, Scaffolding Inspector, and Stacking & Storage Regulations. We will discuss Scaffolding Inspector in this newsletter, Stacking & Storage Regulations training in a future issue of the newsletter.

Delegates are required to do the Working at Heights and Scaffolding Erector courses before this course is undertaken.

Scaffolding Inspector

This CETA-approved scaffolding training course consists of both safe erection and inspection of scaffolding in compliance with the South African National Standards (SANS) 10085. The unit standards serve, in conjunction with related unit standards to enable the learner to perform as a scaffold inspector and/or erector depending on chosen direction.

Topics discussed involve design, compliance and roles and responsibilities of both scaffolding inspectors and erectors. The topic is thus divided into two main courses: scaffolding erection and scaffolding inspection each consisting of a separate set of modules.
