Confined space safety training

Ensure safety, prevent confined space hazards

Learning about safe working practices in confined spaces is essential, because these environments pose unique hazards that can lead to serious injuries or fatalities if not properly managed. Confined spaces, such as tanks, pipelines, or underground vaults, often have limited access, poor ventilation, and may contain hazardous gases or materials. Workers in these spaces face risks like suffocation, toxic exposure, and entrapment. Understanding safety protocols, such as proper ventilation, using the right personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency rescue procedures, is critical for preventing accidents and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved in confined space work.

The risks associated with working in confined spaces can often be more hazardous than regular working situations. To minimise this risk, it is necessary to implement a confined space hazard assessment and control programme. This Strat Training course serves the purpose of enabling the learner to implement safety measures relating to work in confined spaces.

A set of 10 modules covers topics such as defining a confined space, understanding why work in such a space is more hazardous than in other, more easily accessible spaces, and how to effectively control hazards in confined spaces.

The course also looks at how to maintain air quality and prevent fire explosions, among other aspects.
